Driven by a passion for aviation and a commitment to justice, David fights tirelessly for the rights of his clients, including accident victims, thereby assisting them and their families rebuild their lives. David leverages over a decade of aviation expertise to his clients, securing justice for those who need it most.

David holds the following qualifications: BJuris (Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education), LLB (University of the Orange Free State) and LLM (University of Pretoria). His practice areas include aviation, medical malpractice, business rescue and commercial law, and BB-BEE restructuring.

David is also an experienced and skilled aviation analyst who also helps clients protect their business and personal interests in disputes related to contracts, medical malpractice, and claims originating from catastrophic aviation related injuries or death. He is dedicated to providing compassionate guidance, helping clients and their families navigate complex legal issues with confidence and care.

Client engagement is central to successful outcomes relating to aviation legal matters; hence David’s work ethic is centred on maintaining a high level of communication. He takes the time to identify and, in addition to the relevant legal issues and risks, to focus on his clients’ goals, concerns, values, and feedback. He manages the relationship transparently to empower his clients to follow how their interests are being served at every stage of legal representation processes. He collaborates with clients enabling them to provide valuable input to ensure that the legal strategy accounts for their requirements. Since his admission as an Attorney in 1991, dedication to people and justice have always been driving forces, resulting in his capability to provide comprehensive legal advice. He is also a Conveyancer and Notary.

David has represented thousands of individuals and corporations in property law matters. During 1997 David’s determination and perseverance were recognised by the Gauteng Provincial Government through a nomination as Best Conveyancing Firm for outstanding performance and service in the delivery of housing in the Gauteng Province.

Being an avid model aircraft enthusiast from childhood, this devotion drove him to diversify into aviation law during 2009. He has since then successfully represented individuals in aviation accident investigations and litigation, in negotiations relevant to the sale of an airline, business rescue, a regulatory body in connection with an array of legal topics pertinent to non-type certificated aircraft, served as a member of a Special Working Group of the South African Civil Aviation Authority relating to Aircraft Safety (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) and advised corporates on legal issues relating to Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). Several pilots experiencing medico-legal challenges are included in his expanding client base.

David is currently intensely involved in litigation relating to helicopter accidents that occurred on local and international flights.

He also performed pro bono work for the only aviation organisation in South Africa whose aircraft were declared national heritage items. David was also the co-author of an article on airline business rescue which was published in an African aviation publication.
